Supplemental WIPA Training Programs
WIPA NTC Supplemental Training: Practical Tips and Tools for Writing BSAs and WIPs Web Course - Regions 3, 4, 6, 9
Format: Web Course
Date(s): October 4 - November 1, 2010
Description:
Under the WIPA paradigm, valuable benefits advisement is captured in writing by developing a report called a Benefits Summary & Analysis (BS&A). This report is intended to provide a way for beneficiaries, family members, and community stakeholders to review the work incentives information that is specific to the individual’s situation and their employment goal. Where an individual stands along the employment continuum has significant implications for how and when BS&As are developed. This course will describe the various stages of employment and guide the CWIC in providing the right information at the right time. CWICs will learn the different methods of developing effective BS&As in a variety of formats, based on the individual’s place on the employment continuum. We will also go one step further to discuss methods of follow up that include the development of action plans and work incentives plans (WIPs).
This course will include a case study assessment that will ask participants to develop “the right information at the right time” for a beneficiary who moves from contemplation stage to employment. The assessment process will include writing assignments and completion of various forms to gauge the level of understanding of the material presented throughout the course.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this training, participants will:
