This two-part webinar provides practical information on how to effectively provide the full range of Work Incentives Planning and Assistance (WIPA) services to veterans who receive both SSA disability benefits and disability benefits from the US Department of Defense or the Veteran’s Administration (VA). Part 1 of this training event will cover a wide range of topics including special considerations for providing WIPA services to veterans with disabilities, conducting outreach to the veteran’s population, understanding the Veterans Administration’s Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Services (VR&E) system, accessing specialized sources of employment assistance for veterans with disabilities, identifying education and training programs available to veterans, and accessing services for homeless veterans.
